United States athletes have won the women’s elite race at the last four Grandma’s Marathon crowns, and with two-time defending champion Dakotah Lindwurm returning, the nation has a great chance of making it five in a row! On the men’s side, though, the last American man to win the Grandma’s Marathon elite men’s race was Chris Raabe in 2009.
Since the inaugural race in 1977, the Grandma’s Marathon has significantly grown into a globally-know event and is recognized for much more than just a 26.2-mile race along the scenic North Shore of Minnesota. Nevertheless, all eyes will be on the elite fields this weekend as some top runners go into battle.
