Tristin Van Ord won the 2023 Freihofer’s Run for Women 5k, while pre-race favorite Allie Kieffer was only 8th in the wet and chilly conditions in Albany, New York, on Saturday, 3 June. The following are the top results from the race.

With the defending champion Allie Ostrander not returning this year, all eyes were on Allie Kieffer of Austin, Texas, but the race didn’t go according to the script, although many people weren’t too surprised by the eventual winner, Van Ord, who entered the race as one of the runners to watch.

In the end, the 28-year-old from Blowing Rock, North Carolina cross the line in 15:54, beating Jessie Cardin, who clocked 16:00 for second place, followed by Anne-Marie Blaney, at 16:02. Allie Kieffer came across the finish line 8th in a time of 16:32.
