Ackeem Blake and Oblique Seville into 100m final at Jamaica Championships

Ackeem Blake and Oblique Seville easily advanced to the final of the men's 100m final at the Jamaica Track and Field Championships 2023 on Friday. Check out the top times in the semifinals.

Ackeem Blake and Oblique Seville secured their spots in the men’s 100m final at the Jamaica Track and Field Championships 2023 with a pair of solid performances in the same semifinal at the National Stadium on Friday.

Blake emerged victorious in the second semifinal heat, battling against a challenging headwind of -2.2 m/s. He clocked a time of 10.21 seconds, narrowly edging out his good friend and world fourth-place finisher, Oblique Seville, who finished in a comfortable second place with a time of 11.23 seconds.

Joining Blake and Seville in advancing from the heat was Kadrian Goldson, who secured third place with a time of 10.26 seconds. In the first semifinal, Ryiem Forde claimed first place, battling against the same -2.2 m/s headwind. He crossed the finish line in 10.23 seconds, defeating Rohan Watson, who secured second place with a time of 10.26 seconds. Jelani Walker finished third with a time of 10.28 seconds, while Tyquendo Tracey secured fourth place in the heat with a time of 10.35 seconds.

The men’s 100m final at the Jamaica Track and Field Championships 2023 will take place at 9:53 p.m. ET.
