GAINESVILLE, Fla. (July 29) – Florida Track and Field star Alida van Daalen added two more medals to her impressive tally at the Dutch Nationals held in Breda, Netherlands, this past weekend. The star native secured a silver and a bronze medal against a pair of highly competitive shot put and discus fields.
Alida van Daalen Building on Summer Performances
This performance comes on the heels of her remarkable success at the U23 European Championships just a fortnight ago, where she clinched gold in both the shot put and discus throw events.

On Friday, van Daalen competed in the women’s shot put, recording a commendable throw of 18.11m (59’5″). This performance earned her a third-place finish, adding a bronze medal to her collection.
The following day, van Daalen participated in the women’s discus throw. Despite falling just an inch short of her personal best, her throw of 59.93m (196’8″) was enough to secure her a silver medal.
These recent victories have increased van Daalen’s total medal count for July to four, underscoring the successful summer she and her team, the Gators, have enjoyed in individual competitions.
Van Daalen’s impressive list of accolades so far includes the following titles:
