John Gregorek ran 3:53.0 to win his third successive “The Guardian Mile” Elite race title on Saturday (29) in Cleveland, Ohio. Gregorek had previously won in 2021 and 2022. Ethiopia’s Tigist Ketema won the women’s race with a time of 4:28.0.
Although his winning time on Saturday wasn’t as fast as in previous years, he was able to pull away from the field after going past the half-mile marker at 2:00, just behind Luca Chatham and Amon Kemboi, who went by in under the two-minute mark.
Mexico’s Ryan Adams was second with a time of 3:56.0, followed by Kenya’s Kemboi at 3:56.0, along with Australia’s Jack Anstey, at 3:57.0 and USA’s Eric Holt, at 3:58.0.

Meanwhile, Tigist Ketema won the women’s race with a time of 4:28.0, beating South Africa’s Carina Viljoen (4:30.0), while Taylor Werner (4:32.0), USA’s Danielle Jones (4:33.0) and Canada’s Stefanie Parsons (4:35.0) followed.
