The event is one of the world’s largest 10K, and we will see most participants competing on the streets, while others are contesting the race virtually. Another large group is slated to feature at this year’s event, with many predicting that the number could eclipse the estimated 60,000 people that were in attendance in the 2022 AJC Peachtree Road Race.

Among the leading contenders for the AJC Peachtree Road Race 2023 title is Senbere Teferi, who is seeking to become the first back-to-back Peachtree champion since 2010. She has already clocked 30:12 already this year on a mostly downhill course in New York, last month, so expect the Ethiopian to put up a good time on Tuesday.

Teferi is expected to be challenged by Joyciline Jepkosgei, a winner of both the TCS London Marathon and TCS NYC Marathon and the third-fastest 10K runner in history with a time of 29:43, as well as Sheila Chepkirui, who ran 31:27 earlier this year, but is the fourth-fastest in history at 29:46. Two-time Olympic gold medalist Tirunesh Dibaba will also take part in the women’s race.

On the men’s side, Tadesse Worku of Ethiopia, who has a personal best of 26:56 will start as the favorite to win the AJC Peachtree Road Race 2023 title, but although his personal best is five seconds faster than the Peachtree course record of 27:01, the conditions might not be ideal for a fast time on Tuesday morning.
