Sha'Carri Richardson wins Doha Diamond League 100m title - USA Track and Field Results

EUGENE, Oregon (July 7) – Sha’Carri Richardson and Tamari Davis won their respective semifinal heats to secure their places in the women’s 100m final at the 2023 Toyota USATF Outdoor Championships held at Hayward Field on Friday night.

Richardson, who set a personal best with a scorching time of 10.71 seconds in the heats on Thursday night, continued her impressive form by winning her semifinal heat in 10.75 seconds. Taking control from the start, Richardson left her competitors behind, firmly stamping her authority on the race.

In the second semifinal, Davis delivered an impressive performance, breaking the 11-second mark with a time of 10.96 seconds. She fended off a strong challenge from Tamara Clark, who finished second in the heat with a time of 10.98 seconds. Twanisha Terry secured the third qualifying spot with a time of 11.07 seconds.

Joining Sha’Carri Richardson and Tamari Davis in the final are Brittany Brown, who finished second in the first semifinal with a time of 11.00 seconds, and defending national champion Melissa Jefferson, who crossed the line in third place with a time of 11.08 seconds.

Jacious Sears of Tennessee, the SEC champion, clocked 11.08 seconds to earn a place in the final, along with high school standout Mia Brahe-Pedersen, who ran a time of 11.09 seconds.

Notably, Aleia Hobbs, the second-fastest American this season, only managed a time of 11.25 seconds, placing her last in her semifinal. Jenna Prandini did not participate in her scheduled race.

Noah Lyles Advances To Final In Men’s 100m

In the men’s 100m qualifiers, Noah Lyles, the reigning World Championships 200m gold medalist, took the lead with a time of 9.94 seconds in heat two. Cravont Charleston secured second place with a time of 9.96 seconds, followed closely by Trayvon Bromell, who clocked 10.02 seconds.

Christian Coleman, the 2019 world champion, dominated the field in the other semifinal, comfortably crossing the line in 9.98 seconds. Kendal Williams finished second with a time of 10.10 seconds, while Terrance Laird secured third place with a time of 10.13 seconds.
