
The latest track and field results from the Pan American U20 Championships Day 2 morning session on Saturday (5). There were two finals in the morning session today, along with the semifinals of the men’s 110m hurdles and women’s 100m hurdles races.
Gabriel Alvarado of Nicaragua used a superb late kick to outpace Jesus Ramirez of Colombia to win the men’s 10,000m Race Walk gold medal, while Canada’s teenage star Julia Tunks, Canada threw 56.98m to win the gold medal in the women’s discus throw final.

In the sprint hurdles, USA’s Blaise Atkinson set the tone in the men’s 110m hurdles, clocking 13.49 seconds to qualify with the fastest time from the semifinal heats.
American athletes were also the top qualifiers in the women’s 100m hurdles, as Aaliyah McCormick ran 13.23 secs and her teammate Myla Greene posted 13.48 secs to enter tonight’s final with the fastest times.
