
MAYAGUEZ, Puerto Rico – Representing the United States at the 2023 Pan American U20 Championships, Texas A&M track and field stars Jack Mann III secured the men’s pole vault title, and Camryn Dickson earned a bronze medal in the women’s 100m on the opening day at the Estadio Jose A. Figueroa Freyre on Friday (4).
Mann III, who entered as the top seed, didn’t disappoint, claiming the gold medal and 2023 U20 Pan American Championship gold for the USA as he continued his good form this season. He cleared 5.00m/16-4.75 on his second attempt to firm his first-place finish on a dominating first day for the U.S.
In the women’s 100m, Camryn Dickson of Texas A&M had a strong performance, winning her heat with a time of 11.75 seconds and qualifying second overall for the final.

She improved her preliminary time by 0.27 seconds, securing a bronze medal with a time of 11.48 seconds. Alana Reid of Jamaica won the gold medal in the event win in 11.33 seconds, with the silver going to USA’s Kaila Jackson, who ran 11.41secs.
Meanwhile, Dickson will join Laila Hackett in the women’s 4x100m relay on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. ET.
Abigail Martin, another Texas A&M track and field star, is set to compete at the 2023 Pan American U20 Championships on Saturday in the women’s discus event, which starts at 10:40 a.m., marking the beginning of her championships journey.
