EUGENE, Ore. (Sept. 17) — The 2023 Eugene Diamond League Final Day 2 is set to get underway at Hayward Field on Sunday, featuring an updated schedule and start lists for each event. The Prefontaine Classic meeting will be broadcast live on CNBC and NBC, with additional live streaming on Peacock. The action kicks off at 3:00 p.m. ET on CNBC and continues on NBC at 4:00 p.m. ET. Also watch live on the Wanda Diamond League YouTube Channel in selected countries.

Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Shericka Jackson aims for Diamond League Final Double

World champions Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Shericka Jackson headline the roster of athletes vying for a second Diamond League Final title. Ingebrigtsen will try to win the men’s 3000m race after his recent triumphs in the Bowerman Mile, while Jackson sets her sights on breaking the long-standing women’s 200m world record.

Ingebrigtsen, who on Saturday, shattered European and Diamond League records in the Bowerman Mile, returns to the track today. He narrowly missed breaking the world record, and the Norwegian athlete is eager to compete in the men’s 3000m race.

“Obviously, I was here to run the mile,” Ingebrigtsen said. “I’m jumping in the 3000m because I got the opportunity.” He added that he would, “try to prepare as good as I can, and we’ll see tomorrow.”

On the women’s side, two-time world champion Shericka Jackson is focused on challenging the 200m world record again.

The Jamaican sprinter has clocked impressive times of 21.41 and 21.48 seconds this season and aims to surpass the 21.34-second world record established by American legend Florence Griffith-Joyner in 1988.

Making their debut at the 2023 Eugene Diamond League Final are reigning world and Diamond League champions Mary Moraa, Grant Holloway, Mondo Duplantis, and Yaroslava Mahuchikh. Other athletes to watch include Femke Bol, Marileidy Paulino, Valarie Allman, Ryan Crouser, Keely Hodgkinson, and Athing Mu.
