Top Great North Run results 2023: Tola, Jepchirchir champions

NEWCASTLE, England (Sept. 10) — World track and field distance great, Mo Farah, finished fourth in his final competitive half marathon race on Sunday here in Newcastle, clocking in at 1:03:28. The following are the 2023 Great North Run results.

Dating back to 2014, Farah is a six-time Great North Run champion, and although he wasn’t able to add another title to his name, he was delighted to sign off his illustrious career at an event he’s enjoyed so much. A large crowd gathered at the finish to cheer him off on Sunday.

The AJ Bell Great North Run 2023 featured top-tier performances from athletes around the globe. Ethiopia’s Tamirat Tola led the men’s field with a sub-one-hour finish time, clocking in at 59:58, while Kenya’s Peres Jepchirchir dominated the women’s race, clocking in at 1:06:45.
