“Winning the World Championships was the culmination of every step of running I’ve ever taken,” said Kerr. “Now, my confidence is higher than it’s ever been, and I have some unfinished business to take care of on 5th Avenue.”

Kerr will face stiff competition from New Zealand’s 5,000-meter record-holder George Beamish and a strong American contingent that includes 2023 Falmouth Mile champion Johnny Gregorek and U.S. Olympian Woody Kincaid.

In the women’s category, St. Pierre is making her return to the race for the first time since finishing as runner-up in 2019 and giving birth in March.

“My preparation this time has been different, as I fit training around feedings and nap time,” St. Pierre noted. “But my body feels good, and the workouts have been solid. I’m excited to be back.”

She will be joined by a formidable lineup that includes Great Britain’s 2021 New Balance 5th Avenue Mile champion Jemma Reekie, Mexican record-holder Laura Galvan, and Jamaican record-holder Adelle Tracey, among others.

The event will also feature various special heats, including a Back to School Mile for youth and a George Sheehan Memorial Mile for seniors.
