Top 2023 Chicago Marathon results: World record for Kelvin Kiptum

The top 25 men's and women's 2023 Chicago Marathon results on Sunday saw Kelvin Kiptum destroying the world record and Sifan Hassan dominating the women's race.

The top 25 men’s and women’s 2023 Chicago Marathon results on Sunday. The event was highlighted by a stunning marathon world record performance of 2:00:35 by Kenya’s Kelvin Kiptum, while Dutch icon Sifan Hassan dominated the women’s race with a course record of 2:13:44.

Kiptum entered the race in prime form, and after going past the halfway mark at 1:00:48, the 23-year-old went on to dominate the second half of the race to become the first man under 2:01 and smashed the previous world record of 2:01:09 set by compatriot Eliud Kipchoge at the Berlin Marathon in 2022.

On the women’s side, London Marathon champion Sifan Hassan clocked a remarkable 2:13:44 to break the previous course record on her Chicago Marathon debut. This was also her second-ever marathon race.
