Indiana Wesleyan and Taylor (Ind.) clinched the men’s and women’s respective team titles at the Crossroads League Cross Country Championships 2023, hosted at TUXC Farm on Friday (3).
Under the lead of their frontrunners, the top-ranked Indiana Wesleyan men’s team breezed to victory, amassing a mere 19 points, eclipsing their nearest rival by a staggering 50 points margin.

Colten Covington snagged the individual 8k title clocking 25:10.1, spearheading Indiana Wesleyan’s claim to the top four spots with five of their runners finishing in the top nine.
Following Covington, Luke Pohl (25:11.8), Eli Fullerton (25:15.5), and Landon Wakeman (25:17.5) secured a 1-2-3-4 finish, while Braden Vernot rounded off the top nine clocking 25:36.8.
In the men’s team contest, No. 12 Taylor (Ind.) secured the second spot with 71 points, trailed by No. 11 Goshen (Ind.) with 108 points, No. 10 Grace (Ind.) with 110 points, and No. 23 Huntington (Ind.) with 129 points.
On the women’s front, No. 12 Taylor (Ind.) emerged victorious, bagging its 11th consecutive Crossroads League Cross Country Championships team title.
The Trojans tallied a score of 33 points on Friday, a commanding lead of over 50 points against second-place No. 22 Huntington (Ind.), which accumulated 84 points. Indiana Wesleyan secured the third spot with 87 points.
Following are No. 15 Indiana Wesleyan with 87 points for second place, No. 13 Grace (Ind.) and No. 12 Goshen (Ind.), marking the competitive spirit of the event.
Anna Martin of Huntington was the individual women’s 6k winner, posting a time of 21:52.3 to finish ahead of Mollie Gamble of Taylor who clocked 21:56.2 for second place. The top three was completed by Alex Ebetino of St. Francis (Ind.) who also broke 22 minutes, clocking 21:58.
