Carifta Games Results Day 1 AM

The results from finals-only events during the morning session on Day 1 at the Carifta Games 2024 at Kirani James Stadium in St. George’s, Grenada, on Saturday, 30 March.

Three titles were secured in the first day’s opening session, while there was also a record-breaking performance by a very talented teenager in the U17 Boys’ Javelin Throw competition.

Jamaica collected two of the three gold medals in the morning, with Zavien Bernard clearing 1.71m to win the U17 girls’ high jump ahead of the Bahamas’ Alexandria Komolafe, who also cleared the same height. Bernard’s compatriot Jamelia Young won the U17 girls’ shot put gold medal with an effort of 14.25m.

Meanwhile, Maleik Francis of Antigua and Barbuda shattered the U17 boys’ Javelin championship record with a throw of 68.84m.
