U17 boys 400m finalists at Carifta Games 2024

GRENADA — Kemron Mathlyn led all qualifiers into the final of the U17 boys’ 400m at the 2024 Carifta Games, held at Kirani James Stadium in St. George’s, Grenada, on Saturday. Representing Grenada, Mathlyn secured his place in the final with the day’s fastest time of 49.09 seconds in the second semi-final.

Eagan Neely of The Bahamas and Kaidon Persaud of Guyana also finished under the 50-second mark in the semi-finals, clocking 49.51 seconds and 49.53 seconds, respectively.

In the first semi-final heat, Jamaica’s Nickcoy Bramwell advanced to the final with a comfortable time of 50.23 seconds, defeating Shavano Nixon of The Bahamas, who finished in 50.39 seconds, and Aidan Moore of Barbados, who completed the race in 51.03 seconds, all of whom advanced to the final.

The final of the U17 Boys 400m is scheduled for the evening session on Saturday, with the race time set for 6:20 p.m.
