FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The John McDonnell Invitational 2024, scheduled for Friday, April 19, marks the Razorbacks’ second home meet of the season, boasting a lineup of 25 teams with an option to both stream live and follow live results.

Scheduled to kick off at John McDonnell Field, running events start at 3:00 p.m. followed by field events starting at 10:30 a.m. Track and field fans who are unable to attend the meeting can watch a live stream of the event on SEC Network+ at 3:30 p.m. Live results can be accessed via: FlashResults.

The meeting is open to both collegiate and professional athletes and the start list will feature a number of notable names such as Christopher Bailey, Khalifa Rosser, Taliyah Brooks, Paris People, Shafiqua Maloney, and Ackera Nugent.

Arkansas men’s head coach Chris Bucknam expressed enthusiasm for the anticipated favorable weather, providing a more comfortable atmosphere for the athletes’ routines during the meet.

“With every meet there is a level of importance, so we take each home meet seriously,” Bucknam stated.

“We’re trying to get our kids out there on our home track and maybe compete them in a different event. For the most part, we’re just in need of working on our resume to get this team to a championship level.”

The Razorback distance runners are set to engage in speed work by dropping down to the 1,500m category.

Coach Bucknam emphasized the importance of the upcoming meets in terms of securing national qualifying times.

“Hopefully, when we get to the SEC Championships we’ll be a fully formed team,” Bucknam remarked. “We want to have a great meet where we can have forward progress in our motivation, attitude, and performances.”
