JACKSONVILLE, Florida, (April 27) – Olympic champion Lamont Marcell Jacobs opened his 2024 season with a solid 100-meter performance at the East Coast Relays 2024 meeting on Saturday, finishing second to his Canadian training partner Andre De Grasse, the five-time Olympic medalist.

Both sprinters were credited with a time of 10.11 seconds (0.9m/s) in the event, with De Grasse (10.103) edging out Jacobs (10.106) after the officials needed to use technology to separate the pair, who broke the tape at the same time.

American Trayvon Bromell, the two-time world bronze medalist, was third in 10.14 seconds.
