Headlining the starters in the women’s 10,000m is Gudaf Tsegay of Ethiopia, who set the world 5000m record on the same track last year, Kenya’s Beatrice Chebet, a three-time world cross-country champion, including twice as a senior, and Kenyan Grace Loibach Nawowuna, who has also dipped under 30 minutes for the 10,000m.

Ednah Kurgat is slated to represent the home contingent, but she wasn’t listed among the starters in the event’s updated start list on Saturday.

The men’s race is an all-Kenyan affair, with two USA runners acting as pacemakers.
