The 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon in Eugene will get underway this week, with the nation’s top athletes vying for places to Paris 2024. Live streaming coverage of the trials will be on Peacock, NBC, and USA Network.
Sha’Carri Richardson Among Stars Ready To Battle
The sprint events, which get going on Friday, will again be among the highlights, and the following is the start list for the women’s 100m, featuring the likes of Sha’Carri Richardson, McKenzie Long, Abby Steiner, Aleia Hobbs, Melissa Jefferson, Jacious Sears, and Tamari Davis.

Richardson, the reigning world 100m champion and the defending national champion, will look to make her first Olympic team when she lines up in heat four against Tamari Davis and Tamara Clark. Richardson, with a season-best of 10.83 seconds, is the second-fastest American this season, while Davis has clocked 10.94, and Clark, 10.98.
Stacked Heat – Steiner, Long and Hobbs
The opening heat promises early fireworks, with NCAA sprint double champion McKenzie Long, Aleia Hobbs and Abby Steiner set to face off. All three are expected to reach the semis and final.
Elsewhere, world leader Jacious Sears, who clocked 10.77 in April before an injury sidelined her, will start in heat two against the likes of Jadyn Mays Dajaz Defrand, Mikiah Brisco, and Kennedy Blackmon.
However, her fitness remains uncertain.
Heat three will see the likes of Candace Hill, Melissa Jefferson, Shannon Ray, and Twanisha Terry.
The top six from each heat, plus the next three fastest times, will progress to the semi-final round of the women’s 100m.
