Olympic 100m champion Julien Alfred will compete in the women’s 60m sprint at the 118th Millrose Games on Sunday, February 1st, 2025, the meeting organizers said. The event will take place at the Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory in New York City, and Alfred will face strong competition from other top sprinters, including defending Millrose champion Jacious Sears and Aleia Hobbs.
Julien Alfred, the former Texas Longhorns sprinter who made history at the 2024 Paris Olympics, headlines the list of recently confirmed athletes for the event. The Caribbean sprinter secured St. Lucia’s first-ever Olympic medal when she won the 100m title.
Alfred also won silver in the 200m at the same Olympics. In 2025, she managed to shake off some injury concerns to earn bronze in the 100m at the World Championships, but was forced to withdraw from the half-lap event.
“I am looking forward to competing at the Millrose Games as I begin my quest to become the World Indoor Champion yet again,” Alfred said.

The 24-year-old is also successful in indoor track events. She is the World Indoor Champion in the 60m and won the Millrose Games 60m event in 2024. Her personal best time of 6.94 seconds makes her the second-fastest 60m runner in history, tied with American sprinter Aleia Hobbs, with both times accomplished in Albuquerque, NM.
Other Competitors in the 60m
The women’s 60m race will include several other elite athletes. USA’s Jacious Sears won the event at the 2024 Millrose Games and will defend her title, while compatriot Hobbs, a three-time US Champion who finished third in this event last year behind Sears and Celera Barnes, is also confirmed to race in the straightaway.
Dina Asher-Smith from Great Britain, who won the 200m World Championship in 2019, will also compete.

Women’s 60m Hurdles Event
The women’s 60m hurdles will feature a competition between World Record indoor holder Devynne Charlton and two-time World Champion Danielle Williams. Charlton, who represents the Bahamas, first broke the world record at the 2024 Millrose Games. She then set the current world record of 7.65 seconds at the World Indoor Championships a few weeks later and returned a year later to successfully defend her world indoor title in 2025.
“I’m excited to return to New York City for the Millrose Games,” Charlton, who finished third in 2025, said. “This event holds a truly special place in my career, as it was the site of my first world record.”
Meanwhile, Danielle Williams from Jamaica, who owns a personal best of 7.75 seconds for 60m hurdles, is a global champion in the sprint hurdles, having won the 100m hurdles World Championship in 2015 and 2023 gold medals.
At 33 years old, Williams continues to improve and ran her personal best time of 12.31 seconds in 2025 in Silesia, Poland. Her compatriot Megan Tapper, who won bronze in the 100m hurdles at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and is aiming for a productive 2026 campaign, will also compete in the event and will be one to watch as well.
