Patrizia Van Der Weken returns to the Czech Indoor Gala in Ostrava on February 3 to defend her 60-meter title against European indoor champion Zaynab Dosso and a strong international field. The World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meeting takes place at Atletická hala, with live coverage on the CzechAthletics YouTube channel.
Dosso leads the entries after winning European gold in Apeldoorn last year with a national record time of 7.01 seconds. The 26-year-old Italian has collected major medals at back-to-back World Indoor Championships, taking silver in 2025 and bronze in 2024. She faces athletes who joined her on the podium in Apeldoorn, including Van Der Weken and other finalists from that competition.

Van Der Weken, also 26, made history as Luxembourg’s first-ever medalist at the European Indoor Championships when she claimed bronze in 7.06. She opened her 2026 campaign with twin 7.20 clockings in Luxembourg on January 4. Last year at this same meet, she won in 7.08, narrowly beating Poland’s Ewa Swoboda by one-hundredth of a second.
Czech fans will support Karolina Manasova, the European under-23 100-meter champion who set a national 60-meter record of 7.10 in the Apeldoorn semifinals before placing eighth in the final. Manasova finished third at last year’s Czech Indoor Gala in 7.19 and she is looking forward to another solid outing on the Ostrava track.
“I’m really looking forward to the Czech Indoor Gala,” said the 22-year-old. “I’m slowly counting down the days. Racing in my home arena makes me even more excited. The start list will be packed again, so we can expect a great race. I hope to fully capitalize on the strong competition and produce a good performance.”
The meeting features twelve events across men’s and women’s competition, including sprint hurdles, middle-distance races, and field events. Competition details and results will be available at atletika.cz.
