FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas, (Jan 31) — American hurdler Trey Cunningham continued his strong indoor season on Saturday, storming to a world-leading 7.42 seconds to win the men’s 60 metres hurdles at the 2026 Razorback Invitational at the Randal Tyson Track Center on Saturday (31).
The 2022 world 110m hurdles silver medalist had earlier eased through his preliminary heat in 7.50 seconds, breaking his own meet record of 7.60 set in 2023. Cunningham, the two-time NCAA champion with Florida State, then returned little more than an hour later to lower the mark again with a commanding performance to dismiss his collegiate challengers.
Cunningham’s winning time matched the fourth-fastest of his career and marked the third occasion he has clocked 7.42. Entering the meet, the 27-year-old jointly held the world-leading mark of 7.48 with Poland’s Jakub Szymański, set last week at the New Balance Grand Prix in Boston. He is ranked No. 11 on the all-time 60m hurdles world list with his PB of 7.38 seconds.
Malachi Snow of Texas Tech placed second in 7.56 in the final, while Arkansas’ Jamaican representative Jerome Campbell ran 7.57 for third. Another Jamaican, Vashaun Vascianna, also of Arkansas, was fourth in 7.63.
