KINGSTON (Feb 21 ) — Five-time Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah will continue her return to competitive action on Saturday when she lines up in the women’s 60 meters invitational at the S.W. Isaac-Henry Invitational Meet 2026 at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.
Live streaming coverage of the meet will be available on the StrideVisionTV YouTube Channel.
Thompson-Herah, 33, made her season debut at the Camperdown Classic on Feb. 14, clocking 7.24 seconds to finish third in the 60m despite a -1.7 m/s headwind. The result marked a promising return for the Jamaican sprinter, who has battled injuries over recent years, including an Achilles problem that limited her appearances in 2024.
The double Olympic sprint champion from Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 will face a strong field that includes Levanya Williams, Krystal Sloley, and Anthonique Strachan as she continues to sharpen her form early in the season.
Thompson-Herah last competed at an individual international championship at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, where she earned bronze in the 100m and silver in the 4x100m relay. She focused solely on the relay at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest and contested only two races in 2024.
A Commonwealth Games double sprint gold medalist in Birmingham in 2022, Thompson-Herah remains one of the world’s most decorated sprinters, holding back-to-back Olympic titles in both the 100m and 200m.
The men’s 60m in Kingston also promises excitement, featuring Ackeem Blake, Sachin Dennis, Nigel Ellis, Adrian Kerr, and Jeevan Newby among the starters.
Fans can follow Thompson-Herah’s progress and watch the full meet live via the StrideVisionTV YouTube stream this weekend.
