Olympic Champion Julien Alfred (6.99) and NCAA Champ Jordan Anthony (6.43) Run WLs At Tyson Invitational

Julien Alfred and Jordan Anthony set world leads at the 2026 Tyson Invitational 60m finals with record times of 6.99 and 6.43 in Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas (Feb 13) – Saint Lucia Olympic champion Julien Alfred and American sprinter Jordan Anthony produced world-leading performances to win the 60 meters championship titles on the opening day of the 2026 Tyson Invitational at the Randal Tyson Track Center on Friday.

Julien Alfred Takes Women’s Title

Alfred, 24, stormed to victory in 6.99 seconds, setting a world lead and a new meeting record. She became the first woman this year to break the seven-second barrier, eclipsing her own earlier record of 7.01, which had already erased Tiana Madison’s 2012 meet mark of 7.02.

The time also equalled the fifth-fastest performance of Alfred’s career, continuing her recovery from an injury which hampered her dominant run of form since taking the World Indoor title and Olympic 100m gold in Paris in 2024. Julien, the former Texas sprinter and many-time NCAA champion, is the first Saint Lucia gold medalist at an Olympic Games.

Jacious Sears of the United States finished second in 7.03, while Jamaica’s Brianna Lyston, the 2022 World U20 200m champion, clocked a season-best 7.07 for third. Alia Armstrong (7.21) and Alicia Burnett of Ole Miss (7.23) completed the top five.

Jordan Anthony Wins Men’s 60m

In the men’s 60m race, Jordan Anthony, a two-time NCAA champion and the 2025 Bowerman Award winner, sped to a personal best of 6.43 seconds, topping the 2026 world list and shattering the meet and facility record of 6.46, set by Terrence Trammell in 2003.

Anthony’s time places him equal 10th on the world all-time list, matching performances by Noah Lyles and Tim Harden, and moving ahead of former world 100m record holder Asafa Powell (6.44) of Jamaica and one of the USA’s fastest-ever sprinters, Justin Gatlin (6.44).

Traunard Folson of Tennessee placed second with a personal best-equaling 6.49, while teammate Davonte Howell of the Cayman Islands ran 6.52 for third. Trayvon Bromell, the 2016 World Indoor champion, was fourth in 6.53.
