Kosgei, the reigning NCAA outdoor 5,000 and 10,000 meters champion, is slated to make her first appearance of 2026 in the women’s 3,000m invitational section after last racing on Dec. 6 in Boston. Samuel, the NCAA cross country champion returns to action in the men’s 3,000m invite.
The women’s middle-distance and long-distance races are stacked with current collegiate standouts and Olympic-level quality. Stanford Olympian Juliette Whittaker, last year’s NCAA indoor and outdoor 800m champion, is expected to race her specialist event for the first time this winter after earlier outings at 600m, 1,000m and the mile; she used this meeting in 2025 to set the NCAA 800m lead at 1:59.44.
