KINGSTON, March 9 (World-Track) – Olympic and world 100m silver medallist Kishane Thompson will spearhead a 32-member Jamaican team for the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Kujawy Pomorze, Poland, where he will be joined by fellow 60m standouts Ackeem Blake and Bryan Levell.
The revised squad, announced on Monday by the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA), follows late withdrawals and covers events from the 60m dash to the horizontal jumps for the March 20-22 global showpiece at Arena Torun.

Thompson, the reigning Olympic and world 100m silver medalist, will arrive in Poland in potent form after clocking a 6.46 personal best over 60m in Kingston, when edging Levell (6.47) and Blake (6.48) in a statement performance at the Gibson McCook Relays 2026 in Kingston on February 28.
Blake, the 2024 World Indoor 60m bronze medallist, also secured a wild card into Kujawy Pomorze as the 2026 World Indoor Tour men’s 60m champion. World 200m bronze medallist Levell completes a formidable men’s short sprint trio that underlines Jamaica’s intention to challenge for medals in the 60m and relay events on the fast Torun track.
In addition to the sprinters, the men’s roster features 400m specialist Delano Kennedy, 800m man Navasky Anderson and a solid 4x400m relay pool, as well as horizontal jumps contenders Carey McLeod, 2019 world long jump champion Tajay Gayle and triple jumper Jordan Scott, a fourth-place finisher at the last world indoors.
On the women’s side, in-form sprinter Jonielle Smith headlines the 60m lineup and will be joined by rising star Brianna Lyston, with former world U20 champion Tina Clayton listed as a reserve. Sprint hurdlers Megan Simmonds-Tapper, the 2021 Olympic 100m hurdles bronze medalist, and Oneka Wilson bolster Jamaica’s technical event presence, while 800m veteran Natoya Goule-Toppin fronts the middle-distance charge alongside Kelly-Ann Beckford.
The field events unit is led by high jumper Lamara Distin and long jumper Nia Robinson, with Shantae Foreman named for the triple jump.
Management and coaching duties will be handled by manager Brian Smith, technical leader Mark Elliott and a staff that includes coaches Paul Francis, Michael Frater and Kerrylee Ricketts, supported by a full medical team.
The JAAA noted that relay team composition remains at the discretion of the technical leader, and reserve athletes may be called into action if required during the three-day championships in Poland’s Kujawy-Pomerania region.
