American Olympic champion Masai Russell, who is also confirmed to race at the 2026 Shanghai/Keqiao meeting, will line up against world record holder Nigerian Tobi Amusan, two-time world champion Danielle Williams of Jamaica, and the USA’s World Athletics Championships bronze medalist Grace Stark in a star-studded field at the ninth leg of the Diamond League series.
Russell will head into her home meeting chasing her first Diamond League title after her strongest season yet in the series. The American claimed her first Diamond League win in Silesia last August, clocking a series record of 12.19 seconds in the process.

Fellow American Stark will also compete in Eugene after a standout Diamond League campaign in 2025. Stark broke meeting records in Keqiao, Stockholm, and Paris before delivering a medal-winning performance at the World Championships in Tokyo.
Nigeria’s Amusan, who currently trains in Jamaica at the Racers Track Club under the guidance of renowned coach Glen Mills, brings considerable experience to the field. The world record holder, who ran 12.12 seconds to set the global mark, won the Diamond League title in three straight seasons from 2021 to 2023 and remains one of the most consistent performers in the event.
Williams adds further star power to an already formidable lineup. The Jamaican is a two-time world champion, winning her most recent title in Budapest in 2023, and claimed the Diamond League crown in 2019.
Eugene serves as the ninth stop on the 2026 Wanda Diamond League calendar, which opens in Doha on May 8. The series concludes with the two-day final in Brussels on September 4-5, spanning four continents and 15 cities across the season.
