The 2026 college cross country campaign continues this weekend with another loaded schedule, including the LSU season opener on Friday. After a strong top-three finish in its season opener last weekend, the LSU women’s cross-country team, which is receiving ranking votes nationally heading into the season, hosts its only home meet of the year when the Tigers run the LSU Twilight Relay Invitational at the UREC Field Complex in Baton Rouge.
Action on Friday begins with the men’s 2x4K, which goes off first at 7:15 p.m. CT., followed by the women’s 2x3K relay, which is scheduled for 8 p.m. You can follow live results and updates via the Athletic/RunnerSpace.com. Click here for live results.

Friday’s meet will be the first real look at the full LSU roster this season. At last week’s Battle for New Orleans at Lake Oaks Park, the women ran only five of their 15 runners, and the men ran just four and did not score as a team.
The Tigers enter the season as one of the seven teams just outside of the national top 30, but, receiving votes, were optimistic about the upcoming season. Last season LSU made its first-ever NCAA Championships appearance as a team, finishing 23rd with 530 points.
Five of the top six runners from that national meet are back for 2026, giving the Tigers a deep and experienced lineup as they look to build on that program milestone.
