NEW YORK — Two-time champion Jemma Reekie of Great Britain returned to the New Balance Fifth Avenue Mile for the first time since 2023 and blitzed the women’s course record on Sunday, clocking 4 minutes 14 seconds across the 20-block closed stretch of Fifth Avenue from East 80th to East 60th Street.

Reekie, who also holds the European road mile record, finished well clear of American Josette Andrews (On Athletics Club), who posted 4:17 for second place. Another American, Rachel McArthur (ASICS), was third in 4:18, rounding out an all-American podium behind the British winner. Twenty women contested the professional race, which began at 12:30 p.m. EDT.
In the men’s race, Marco Langon of the United States won in 3:45, holding off Britain’s Jake Heyward, who clocked 3:46 for second place, and Australia’s Adam Spencer (3:46).
