STILLWATER, Okla. (World-Track) — No. 3 BYU won the women’s team title at the Cowboy Jamboree on Saturday, placing all five of its scorers in the top nine to finish with 32 points at Oklahoma State’s Greiner Family Cross Country Course.
The Cougars won the meet for the second consecutive year and remained unbeaten this season. Host Oklahoma State was second with 64 points, followed by No. 2 New Mexico with 70.

Oklahoma State’s Billah Jepkirui won the individual 6-kilometer race in a course-record 19 minutes, 24.4 seconds, with teammate Maureen Cherotich second in 19:28.6. BYU sophomore Jane Hedengren led the Cougars in third at 19:32.
Jenna Hutchins placed fifth for BYU in 19:56.9, Lexi Goff-Thompson was seventh in 20:07.3, Nelah Roberts eighth in 20:15.2 and Taylor Lovell ninth in 20:15.9.
“I am very proud of the team effort,” BYU coach Diljeet Taylor said. “This was a good September race for us to build off of. We had some things go really well, and we got good data as we go back to a big block of training in October.”
“I have good memories from running in Oklahoma last year, so I was excited to come back,” said Goff-Thompson on the BYU Athletics website. “I’m proud of the team and the grittiness that was displayed. Oklahoma is a notoriously tough course but it gave us the chance to practice being tough.
“This is just the beginning of the season so it’s exciting to look forward to the fitness that we can gain in the month before we race here again.”
