The University of Minnesota will host the 40th Roy Griak Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 18-19, at Fort Snelling Golf Course in Minneapolis — a new home for one of the nation’s top cross country meets. Friday’s action opens at 10:30 a.m. CT with the Women’s Suzy Wilson College 6K, followed by the Men’s Jo Rider College 8K at 11:15 a.m. Nearly 20 college programs compete on each side, including Iowa State, Boise State, North Dakota State, St. Thomas and host Minnesota.

Saturday shifts to high school competition, beginning with the Lefty Wright Boys Maroon race at 9 a.m. The high school boys and girls championship races are set for 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., respectively. Additional high school races — including the Merrill Fischbein Boys Gopher, Gary Wilson Girls Gold and others — run through 2:15 p.m.
