LOUISVILLE – Junior Alain Bailey led a 1-2-3 finish in the long jump for Arkansas Razorback men’s track and field on day one of the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships, at Louisville’s Cardinal Park.

ATLANTA – The Irish track and field teams competed Friday during the first day of events at the Georgia Tech Invitational. Women’s 1500 Meters: Marissa Treece finished 12th with an NCAA regional qualifying time of 4:27.70, while Lindsey Ferguson finished 21st in 4:31.56.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Purdue men’s and women’s track and field teams had a great first day at the 2009 Big Ten Outdoor Championships, hosted by Ohio State at Jesse Owens Track Stadium on Friday. Both the men and the women sit in third place in the team standings as the men scored 10 points and the women tallied 14.

Summers Wins 10,000 at MAC Championships

AKRON, Ohio – Ohio junior Kari Summers (Troy, Ohio) won the 10,000 meters and senior Susan Plungis (Great Barrington, Mass.) took second in the javelin to land the Bobcats in second place after four scored events on day one of the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The host Akron Zips hold the lead over the 12-team field, as they try to win their fifth-consecutive team title.
