Track and field Grand Slam Track has released the competition timetable for its highly anticipated Miami Slam, scheduled for May 2–4 at the Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar, Florida. This event marks the second Slam of Grand Slam Track’s inaugural season, following a successful kickoff at the Kingston Slam in Jamaica.
The Miami Slam promises to feature several elite track and field talent from around the globe and the fans here in Florida can’t wait to see the leg of the competition. Notable participants include Kingston Slam Champions such as Gabby Thomas and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone. These athletes, alongside others like Kenny Bednarek and Alison Dos Santos, will compete for a chance to secure a second consecutive victory at this event.
In total, each Race Group winner will earn $100,000, while the eighth-place competitor will receive $10,000. Grand Slam Track is set to distribute $12.6 million in prize money across all Slams this year, in addition to salary and appearance fees for recognized challengers.
The competition roster includes already confirmed athletes such as Melissa Jefferson, Fred Kerley, and Grant Fisher, among many others. So far, six challengers have been announced, including Anna Hall and Andre De Grasse, with a total of 42 challengers expected to participate.
The Track and field Grand Slam Track Miami competition will also feature the likes of Matthew Hudson-Smith, Ackera Nugent, Roshawn Clarke, Oblique Seville, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, Marileidy Paulino, and Salwa Eid Naser, among others.
Ticket sales for the Miami Slam have officially begun, with fans encouraged to secure their seats through the Grand Slam Track website. The event will be broadcast in 189 countries, expanding access to track fans worldwide.
