Olympic 100m Champion Noah Lyles Headlines 2026 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix

The 2026 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix will feature Olympic 100m champion Noah Lyles when the meet takes place on Saturday, Jan. 24 at the TRACK at new balance in Boston, Massachusetts. Organizers made the announcement on Dec. 3.

Lyles comes into the event fresh off a successful 2025 season. He captured his fourth consecutive world title in the 200m at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. The sprinter also earned bronze in the 100m and helped the United States win gold in the 4x100m relay at the same championships. His season started strong with a victory in the 60m at last year’s New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, marking his fourth straight win at that event.

Jake Wightman vs Grant Fisher

The men’s 2000m race will showcase an intriguing matchup between middle-distance and long-distance specialists. Jake Wightman, the 2022 World Athletics Champion at 1500m, will compete against Grant Fisher, who holds double Olympic bronze medals.

Wightman returned to top form in 2025 after missing the 2023 and 2024 major championships due to injuries. He claimed silver in the 1500m at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo this past season.

Fisher set world records at both 3000m and 5000m indoors last year. The American distance runner won bronze medals in both the 5000m and 10,000m at the Paris Olympic Games.

Meanwhile, Elle St. Pierre will also compete at the meet. The Vermont native holds the US record at 3000m and won gold at the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow with a national record time of 8:20.87. St. Pierre also secured silver at the same distance during the 2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships. She placed eighth in the 1500m final at the 2024 Paris Olympics before taking most of the 2025 season off for maternity leave.

The New Balance Indoor Grand Prix is part of the World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold series. NBC will broadcast the competition live from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST on Jan. 24.

The World Athletics Indoor Tour awards overall tour winners $10,000 and a guaranteed entry to the 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Kujawy Pomorze, Poland. The New Balance Indoor Grand Prix is a founding member of the tour.

This marks the 31st year of the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix. The meet has hosted nine world records and 16 American records throughout its history.
