Lausanne, Switzerland (June 30) – Marie-Josée Ta Lou continued her outstanding form this season with another spectacular run, winning the women’s 100 meters at the 2023 Lausanne Diamond League on Friday.

“I was happy with my race, but not really with my time,” said Ta Lou after her victory. “I will have to work as usual with my coach.
Great Britain’s Daryll Neita secured second place with a time of 11.07 seconds, while Germany’s European champion Gina Lückenemper, who had a slow start, managed to finish strong and take third place, clocking in at 11.17 seconds.
Ta Lou Happy With Win
Entering the race as the world leader with a time of 10.75 seconds, and having already dipped under 10.80 seconds twice this season, Ta Lou proved her dominance at the Zemgales Olimpiskā centra Stadions with an unmatched performance, securing the victory.
“The conditions weren´t ideal,” she added. “It was cold for me. But I´m happy at least I ran under the 11 seconds barrier.”
Her exceptional performance earned her 24 points and further cemented her position as the leader in the Diamond League Qualifiers standings.
Meanwhile, New Zealand’s Zoe Hobbs crossed the line in 11.20 seconds, securing fifth place, while Imani Lansiquot of Great Britain closely followed behind in sixth place with a time of 11.24 seconds.
The Diamond League Qualifiers standings after four meetings are as follows: Marie-Josée Ta Lou leads with 24 points, followed by Shericka Jackson and Gina Lückenemper, who are tied with 13 points. Daryll Neita is close behind with 12 points, while Dina Asher-Smith and Imani Lansiquot are tied with 11 points each.
