The 2025 SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Lagoa, Portugal, will be available to watch through multiple platforms on Sunday, December 14.
Where To Watch The 2025 SPAR European Cross Country Championships?
Fans can watch the complete championships starting at 9:55 am CET through the European Athletics website and the Eurovision Sport platform. The stream will feature commentary in three languages: English, French, and German. Coverage begins at 8:55 am local time in Portugal.

- 10:00 — U20 Men’s Race (4,450m)
- 10:26 — U23 Women’s Race (5,960m)
- 11:00 — U23 Men’s Race (5,960m)
- 11:30 — Mixed Relay (1,300m, 1,510m, 1,510m, 1,640m)
- 12:00 — Senior Women’s Race (7,470m)
- 12:41 — Senior Men’s Race (7,470m)
This year’s event will reach more viewers than ever before. Television networks in 18 countries across Europe will broadcast the championships. That’s two more countries than the 2024 event held in Antalya, Turkey. The live stream will not be available in areas where television broadcasters are showing the races.
Some Athletes To Watch For
Several athletes stand out as top contenders across different race categories at this year’s championships.
In the senior men’s race, France’s Jimmy Gressier and Spain’s Thierry Ndikumwenayo will compete. Ndikumwenayo holds the number one European rank heading into the event.

The senior women’s race features Italy’s defending senior women’s champion Nadia Battocletti, who ranks first in Europe. Portugal’s Mariana Machado will also race on home soil. Machado currently holds the third European rank.
Nicholas Griggs of Ireland will compete in the U23 men’s race. Spain’s Maria Forero, ranked 10th in Europe, will run in the women’s U23 race.
Britain’s Innes Fitzgerald will race in the U20 women’s competition. Portugal’s Isaac Nader will participate in the mixed relay event.
The championships take place at Parque Urbano do Parchal in Lagoa. Anyone who wants to attend in person can enter for free. This marks the 31st edition of the SPAR European Cross Country Championships.
People who cannot watch the races live will have other options. Highlights from the championships will appear on the European Athletics YouTube channel on Sunday evening. Complete replays of all races will be uploaded starting Monday afternoon.
European Athletics will also share coverage through its social media accounts. Updates and content will be posted on its Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok throughout the event.
After The Races
A press conference will take place on Saturday, December 13 at 1:00 pm CET. The pre-event press conference will stream live on the European Athletics YouTube channel. Athletes and officials will speak about the upcoming championships.
