The stage is set for a thrilling night of competition as the women’s 200m semi-finals take center stage on Day 6 of the U.S. Olympic Trials at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon on Friday night (28).

Olympic bronze medalist Gabby Thomas and former national champion Abby Steiner headline a star-studded field in the third heat. Thomas, who claimed bronze in Tokyo and silver at last year’s world championships in Budapest, is the defending champion from last year, and she will start from lane seven today, with Steiner positioned just outside her in lane eight.

The first semi-final features world bronze medalist Sha’Carri Richardson, fresh off her victory in the 100m earlier in the trials. Richardson, eyeing a potential sprint double, will face stiff competition from Jenna Prandini, Jadyn Mays, and Twanisha Terry.

Elsewhere, NCAA champion McKenzie Long leads the charge in the second semi-final, where she’ll be challenged by Anavia Battle, Brittany Brown, and Tamari Davis.

With only two automatic qualifying spots available in each heat, plus the next three fastest times overall advancing to the final, the pressure will be intense as these elite sprinters vie for a coveted spot on the U.S. Olympic team.
