XIAMEN, China — Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson will make her first 200-meter appearance in nine months at the 2025 Wanda Diamond League meeting in Xiamen on Saturday, April 26, following an injury that sidelined her for the Paris Olympics.
Jackson, the second-fastest woman ever in the event with a personal best of 21.41 seconds, last raced the 200m in Szekesfehervar last July before pulling up injured. The two-time world champion’s lingering recovery issues forced her to miss the Olympic Games.
The 30-year-old Jamaican has competed sparingly since her injury, running three 60-meter races in Jamaica earlier this year and clocking 36.13 seconds in a 300-meter race at the Miramar Invitational in Florida this month, where she finished second to Julien Alfred.
In Xiamen, Jackson will face Swiss world indoor 60m champion Mujinga Kambundji and Americans Jenna Prandini, Twanisha Terry and Anavia Battle.
The meeting record of 22.96 seconds, set by Australian Torrie Lewis last year, appears vulnerable. Alfred currently holds the world-leading time of 21.88 seconds, set last weekend in Gainesville.
