The 118th Millrose Games, which is a World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meet, returns to the Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory on Sunday, February 1, 2026. The meet serves as a World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold event and will feature some of the world’s best middle-distance runners.
Yared Nuguse holds the three fastest times in NYRR Wanamaker Mile history. The Olympic bronze medalist ran 3:46.63 at the 2025 race, breaking the indoor mile world record. That performance led eight runners under 3:50 for the mile.
“I’m very excited to be back at Millrose,” said Nuguse. “I always run a great race there, and I’m looking forward to having another great performance. With any luck, I’ll continue my winning streak!”
Hobbs Kessler finished second at last year’s Wanamaker Mile and will try to stop Nuguse’s winning streak. The American runner placed fifth in the 1500 meters at the 2024 Olympics. Kessler has won two national titles and earned a bronze medal at World Indoors. He also holds a world championship title in the Road Mile. His breakthrough came in 2021 when he set a high school record in the mile.

Cameron Myers took third place at the 2025 Millrose Games. The 19-year-old Australian set the World Junior Record in the indoor mile during that race. He also broke the Australian senior record with the same run. Myers became the second-youngest person ever to run a mile in under four minutes. He has won an Australian national championship as well.

The NYRR Men’s Wanamaker Mile closes out the Millrose Games each year. The race stands as one of track and field’s most famous events. Bernard Lagat won the race a record eight times during his career, including six straight victories from 2005 to 2010.
Nuguse has won the last three editions of the Wanamaker Mile. A fourth consecutive victory would place him in rare company in the race’s long history.
“Last year was a race for the ages with Yared setting a new World Record and leading eight men under 3:50 for the mile at our amazing venue,” said Millrose Games Meet Director Ray Flynn. “I’m certain that the NYRR Wanamaker Mile at the 118th Millrose Games will be another epic race!”
Additional Olympians and accomplished runners will join Nuguse, Kessler, and Myers in the race. Meet organizers will announce the complete field at a later date.
New York Road Runners has sponsored the NYRR Wanamaker Mile since 2014. The nonprofit organization produces 60 races each year in New York City, including the TCS New York City Marathon.
“The NYRR Wanamaker Mile remains one of the most anticipated races of the year, and New York Road Runners is proud to have supported this prestigious event for more than a decade as part of our vision to transform lives through the power of running,” said Rob Simmelkjaer, CEO of New York Road Runners.
“We’re excited to welcome Yared Nuguse–who set the world record in this very race last year–back to New York City following his triumphant NYRR racing debut at the New Balance 5th Avenue Mile in September, and we look forward to an unforgettable day of world-class competition and camaraderie as these professional athletes inspire the next generation of runners.”
The 118th Millrose Games will also feature Grant Fisher and Cole Hocker in the Burgess Family Foundation Men’s 2 Mile. Elle St. Pierre, Jess Hull, and Nikki Hiltz will compete in the NYRR Women’s Wanamaker Mile. Joe Kovacs will throw in the Men’s Shot Put.
