Bolt, who was disqualified from the world championships 100m final for false-starting, is coming off a 9.85 seconds seasonal best in the IAAF World Challenge meeting in the Zagreb, Croatia and he wants to better Asafa Powell’s 9.78 secs year best.
“I’m really looking forward to this”, he said. “I really want this world year best and I feel good.
“I think I have it in me to run the fastest time of the year. The track in Brussels is simply excellent.
“It is always nice to be at the Memorial. There is always a great atmosphere and the fans are brilliant, and loud. That gives me a great deal of energy.
“Still, I am not entirely happy about that race. I did not feel good at the start, and for a few seconds lost my focus too. Luckily I was able to regain my senses”, Bolt added.
Also on the card for night are: Bolt’s training partner and world 100m champion Yohan Blake, who will race in the 200m this time, Carmelita Jeter, Amantle Montsho, David Rudisha, Dai Greene Sally Pearson, Walter Dix, who take on Blake in the 200m and Dylan Armstrong….among others.
