WACO, Texas – The stage is set for the start of the outdoor postseason as Baylor University gears up to host the 2024 Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championship for the sixth time in the conference’s history.
The conference championship, which will feature several of the nation’s best track and field programs, will see the Bears competing at home in Waco for the final time this season. The three-day schedule kicks off Thursday at the Clyde Hart Track and Field Stadium and runs through Saturday.

The action-packed three-day meet kicks off with the decathlon on Thursday morning at 11:30 a.m., setting the tone for an intense competition. The opening day culminates with the women’s 10,000 meters event under the stadium lights, adding a touch of drama to the proceedings.
Friday’s schedule is equally captivating, starting at 11 a.m. with the decathlon’s 110-meter hurdles and culminating with the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase, a test of endurance and skill that promises to keep spectators on the edge of their seats until 8:20 p.m.
As the championship reaches its climax on Saturday, anticipation runs high as the women’s discus throw launches the day’s events at 2 p.m. The grand finale of the meet will be the women’s 4×400-meter relay, a high-octane race that is sure to leave a lasting impression on all in attendance and could even have a say on the team title.
Texas Tech won the 2023 men’s title after tallying 179 points, while the women’s team went to Texas after the Longhorns totaled 197 points.
Texas women have won the last four Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championship team titles.
