Jamaica Olympic Trials Women's 100m Semis Start List: Fraser-Pryce, Jackson Separated

Top sprinters Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson, as expected have been placed in separate semi-finals for the women's 100m on Day 2 of the 2024 Jamaica Olympic Trials at Kingston's National Stadium.

Fraser-Pryce, representing Elite Performance Track Club, eased to a brisk 10.98 seconds in the heats, securing the fastest qualifying time of the night and looking in good shape. The two-time Olympic 100m champion headlines the semi-final one heat, where she'll face off against training partner Kemba Nelson, as well as notable contenders Natasha Morrison, Tina Clayton, and Jodean Williams.

Meanwhile, Jackson, who clocked a solid season's best of 10.99 seconds to win her heat on Thursday night, leads the pack in the second semi-final. The MVP Track & Field Club star cruised through the first round but is expected to be pushed a bit by a formidable lineup that includes Briana Williams, Lanae-Tava Thomas, Tia Clayton, Krystal Sloley, Shashalee Forbes, and Alana Reid.

The top three finishers from each semi-final heat, plus the next two fastest times overall, will advance to the final scheduled for later in the evening.

The semi-finals are set to start at 8:50 p.m. with the final going off at 10.45 p.m.
