EUGENE, Oregon (June 30) — The full women’s 10,000m results from Day 7 of the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials at Hayward Field on Saturday, June 30. Weini Kelati won the race with a strong finish down the home straight, with Parker Valby and Karissa Schweizer following her home in second and third place, respectively.
Having already met the qualifying time, Kelati just needed to finish the race, but she didn’t stop there. She unleashed a powerful kick on the final lap, earning her first Olympic berth and a national championship in the process.

In a nail-biting finish, Kelati surged ahead in the final 250 meters, crossing the line in a time of 31:41.07. Florida Gator star Valby fought back to edge Schweizer in a photo finish, both clocking in at 31:41.56, separated by a mere 4/1000ths of a second.
But while Kelati secured her Olympic spot with a dominant performance, Valby and Schweizer will have to wait and see if their World Athletics rankings are high enough to earn them a trip to Paris.
