Femke Bol clocked a stunning time of 47.93 seconds on the anchor leg to lead The Netherlands to gold in the mixed 4x400m relay final on Day 3 at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Saturday. The 400m hurdles specialist was brought into the team for the final and her selection was made just with a brilliant final leg.
Collecting the baton in fourth place after her teammates, Eugene Omalla (45.30), Lieke Klaver (49.30) and Isaya Klein Ikkink (44.90), did some brilliant work early to get the European into an ideal place and she charged past the American in the closing meters to win the gold medal.

Meanwhile, the winning time by the Dutch team of 3:07.43 was only .02 seconds shy of the world record set by the Americans in the heats on Friday.
USA finished second in the final with 3:07.74, while the bronze went to Great Britain with national record of 3:08.01, with the team anchored home by Amber Anning’s 48.81.
