The following are the men’s 10,000m final results on Day 2 at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on Friday, 2 August. Uganda’s Joshua Cheptegei held on to win an exciting, clocking in at 26:43.14 to not only set an Olympic record but finally win the title he had been longing for.

The Tokyo Games silver medallist, who won multiple world and Olympic 5000m titles, had never won a 10,000m gold medal prior to Friday, but it all changed on the first full day of athletics after he kicked with 600m left in the contest and held off his main challengers to break the 16 year ago of Kenenisa Bekele.
Ethiopian Berihu Aregawi finished second to collect the silver in 26:43.44, while the bronze medal went to USA’s Grant Fisher, who ran a season-best time of 26:43.46.
