There were no surprises at the summit. Jamaica once again dominated at the Carifta Games 2025, securing the top spot on the medal table standings with an impressive haul of 78 medals, including 30 golds.
Out of 20 nations that reached the podium, 12 managed to win at least one gold medal, once again highlighting the growing competitiveness of this year’s event, which took place in Trinidad and Tobago from April 19-21.
While Jamaica maintained its stranglehold on regional junior track and field supremacy, the 2025 edition proved to be one of the most hotly contested.
The island nation’s 30 gold medals, though enough to secure first place, marked a dip from its usual tally—an indicator of the rising standards and fierce battles for top honors across the Caribbean. The Bahamas with 37 total medals (16 golds) and Trinidad and Tobago with 25 medals overal (9 golds), rounded out the top three, each pushing the pace and narrowing the gap to the perennial champions.
The Carifta Games 2025 will be remembered for several highlight moments as many of the region’s top juniors say goodbye to this popular age group championship.
Bahamian junior standout Eagan Neely and Jamacia’s Shanoya Douglas each won four gold medalst at this year’s Games!
