World Athletics Championships Budapest 23 entry lists

World Athletics released the final entry lists for the World Athletics Championships Budapest 23, confirming more than 2100 athletes from over 200 teams intending to compete at Hungary’s new National Athletics Centre between 19-27 August.

The entry lists, which as dominated by global champions, including Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, who is aiming for a record-extending sixth world 100m title and back-to-back crowns after she led a Jamaican podium sweep in Oregon last year.

Poland’s Pawel Fajdek also has the chance to secure a sixth gold medal, having won the past five consecutive world track and field championships men’s hammer titles.

Meanwhile, USA’s Ryan Crouser (shot put), Mondo Duplantis (pole vault), Faith Kipgeyon (1500m) and Yulimar Rojas (triple jump) are among the world record-holders who return, targeting back-to-back world title triumphs.

A statistical booklet for the World Athletics Championships Budapest 23 is now available as an ebook and a downloadable PDF.

The booklet has been produced in collaboration with the Association of Track and Field Statisticians (ATFS) and edited by renowned athletics statistician Mark Butler.

It features a wealth of information, including all-time medals lists, performance trends, statistics on the oldest and youngest athletes in event history, a full country index and more.

World Athletics will release the official start lists after the technical meeting on the eve of the championships on August 18.
