NASSAU – The Olympic stage is set for the Paris 2024 Games as 70 teams secured their relay spots at the thrilling World Athletics Relays Bahamas 24, held on May 4-5. Each relay discipline, including both men’s and women’s 4x100m and 4x400m, along with the mixed 4x400m, witnessed the top fourteen teams from each category clinching their tickets to Paris.
The excitement peaked with the United States clinching four victories, including a championship record by the women’s 4x100m team, and Botswana’s men’s 4x400m team leading the world with their record-setting performance.
Over the weekend, the relay teams not only fought for Olympic qualification but also vied for advantageous lane positions and prize money in the finals.

With the initial 40 teams qualifying on Saturday, the remaining 30 secured their places on Sunday, keeping the competition fierce and the stakes high.
Countries like Great Britain & Northern Ireland and the USA have shown remarkable breadth in their relay capabilities, qualifying five teams each across all categories.
Meanwhile, powerhouse nations such as France, Germany, and Jamaica, along with others, have also shown strong performances, ensuring a competitive field in Paris.
As the qualification window remains open until June 30, 2024, teams that fell short in Nassau still have opportunities to qualify based on their performance rankings, keeping hopes alive for many.
