Day 1 will feature four finals, three of which are during the evening session. Track and field enthusiasts can anticipate an exhilarating start to the championships on Saturday, 19 August.

The competition kicks off at 10:30 a.m. local time in Budapest (4:30 a.m. ET) with the men’s Shot Put qualification round, followed by the women’s Heptathlon competition with USA’s Anna Hall in action. The men’s 20 Kilometres Race Walk final, which was initially down for 2:50 a.m. ET, will now take place at 4:50 a.m. ET.
Also scheduled for Day 1 are the Mixed 4x400m relay heats and final, as well as the women’s 10,000m final.
Anna Hall of the USA, bronze medalist from last year’s championships in Oregon, begins her pursuit of the women’s Heptathlon gold medal on Day 1. The first event, the 100m hurdles, starts at 4:35 a.m. ET.
